Commissioned Projects and Events

We're excited to announce that five projects have been commissioned by Noel Park Big local to take place over the summer and autumn!

Noel’s Kitchen

Noel's Kitchen is a volunteer-led charity run by Noel Park mums and is based in Russell Park's Kiosk by the children's play areas.  We open the kiosk on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5pm, as well as mid-week afternoons, serving drinks, ice-creams and snacks.  Thanks to Noel Park Big Local, we will have equipment available for sports and activities in the park when the kiosk is open.

We will also have free football coaching sessions for 2 hours each Saturday and Sunday for 6 weeks, for Noel Park children. We hope this initiative will pave the way for ongoing football coaching and the development of a Noel Park football team.

Please leave a message on 07092982643 or info@noelskitchen.co.uk if you would like further information, or if you would like your child/ren to attend the football coaching sessions (please let us know the name and age of your child/ren to help us organise age-appropriate groups).

The Gifted

The Gifted will use podcasting to find out what young residents of Noel Park think and feel about what youth provision should be being delivered in the area, what issues are most important to them and how they think that they should be addressed.  The podcast consultation will help to create clearer a view of the needs of the young residents of Noel Park going forward and enable them to have their say.  The Gifted expects to engage with at least 65 young people through the course of the project.

The Gifted will visit a number of sites, ‘hotspots’ and groups, where we will interview young people and ask them a series of questions (4-5 questions is usual for this type of project) that will be agreed by the big local Noel Park steering group and the young people.  Their responses will be recorded and edited into a podcast.
